The Shire has six main towns - Baradine, Binnaway, Coonabarabran, Coolah, Dunedoo and Mendooran. Coonabarabran, the largest of the towns, is located on the Newell Highway and is the main administration centre. With the Shire’s relatively central location it is feasible to access employment and attract business from a wide surrounding area. Each town offers numerous sporting, cultural, artistic, social and activity based groups.
